Our Testing Methodology
A transparent, repeatable, and scientific approach to product reviews.
At ITBewertungen.de, we believe that real-world testing combined with controlled measurements is the only way to evaluate tech products. We do not write reviews based on manufacturer spec sheets or marketing materials. We test every product hands-on.
Our 4-Step Evaluation Process
1. Market Research & Retail Purchase
We search the market for top-sellers, highly-rated models, and promising new releases. We purchase every review unit at standard retail stores ourselves. We refuse free review samples from manufacturers to ensure we receive the exact same hardware quality as any regular customer.
2. Synthetic Lab Benchmarking
To establish objective baselines, we subject products to standardized synthetic testing. For storage devices (SSDs), we measure peak transfer rates and queue depth scaling. For laptops and hardware, we measure sustained thermal throttling and compute speed under load using identical setups.
3. Practical Real-World Stress Tests
Numbers don't tell the whole story. We integrate the products into our daily workflows for several days or weeks. We test user experience, software stability, driver compatibility under different operating systems (macOS, Windows, Linux), and general durability.
4. Price-Performance Analysis
Finally, we evaluate if the features and performance warrant the retail price. A high-performance product may still fail to earn a top recommendation if it is overpriced compared to direct market competitors. We map value trends to recommend the best picks for different budget levels.
Editorial Transparency
Our reviewers maintain strict editorial independence. We do not write paid reviews, and rankings cannot be bought. Our recommendations are determined solely by data and user testing. When we find flaws, we point them out clearly to help you avoid expensive purchasing mistakes.
